Camilla Gibb is the author of four internationally acclaimed novels: Mouthing the Words, The Petty Details of So-and-so’s Life, Sweetness in the Belly and The Beauty of Humanity Movement, and most recently a memoir, This Is Happy.

She has been the recipient of the Trillium Book Award, the City of Toronto Book Award and the CBC Canadian Literary Award and has been shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize and the2016 RBC Taylor Prize Her books have been selected for One Book One Community campaigns in Burlington, Aurora and Providence, RI.

She recently wrote and produced the radio documentary ““Evidence of a Father”” for CBC Radio and the film adapation of her novel Sweetness in the Belly, starring Dakota Fanning, is currently in production.

Camilla has a Ph.D. in social anthropology from Oxford University and has been writer-in-residence at the University of Toronto, the University of Alberta and the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of British Columbia.

She has been mentoring aspiring writers for the past 15 years in her roles as an adjunct faculty member of the graduate creative writing programs at the University of Guelph and the University of Toronto and with the faculty of the Humber School for Writers.

She has served on juries for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, the RBC Taylor Prize, the Toronto Arts Council and the Ontario Arts Council, and currently sits on the international advisory boards of Machik (dedicated to education, capacity building and innovation in Tibet) and the Jackman Humanities Institute

Camilla is currently working on her next novel, which will be published in 2020.
